What the sources show

Tournaments titled GXP are on the chess-results database: internal classical, "Rápidas" and "Semi-rápidas" tournaments in 2026, the "Campeões Mundiais" series from 11 April 2025, the women's "Campeãs Mundiais" series with its 7th tournament on 9 October 2026, and a "Torneio Escolinhas" on 27 June 2026. The records give the club premises as Travessa das Almas nº 12, Porto, venue of the 2026 internal tournaments and of an open Chess960 classical tournament starting 5 June 2025; the club is also entered as co-organiser of the 2025 interbank tournament of the SBN finance-sector union (4 October 2025). The match between the federation list entry "GX PORTO" and the "GXP" tournaments is by abbreviation. A 2023 club document says the club was founded in 1940. The club website gxp.pt loads only through JavaScript and could not be read. The Torneio Cidade do Porto was last found on 26 November 2023 (Coliseu do Porto Ageas, Salão Jardim); no later edition appears in the tournament database.
